The best managers are able to rise above stress and lead their employees through tough times, even though they face their own pressures. None of us are immune to the financial pressures and emotional stress on the home front; but hopefully management is better equipped to leave it at home. Sometimes they're not.
If you are like most managers in our industry, you will move to a new arena because of a job change or promotion during your career. You will blend your leadership style, “change agent” abilities, and recruiting skills into your management strategy.
This career change may occur as early as your first management position, perhaps as a laundry manager for an in-house OPL or as a route supervisor. You may be the highly recruited general manager coming in to turn around a failing plant. But regardless of what level position you are taking on, be prepared for “push-back” from those reluctant to change at your new company.

Mission Linen's Two Healthcare Accreditations
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Mission Linen Supply has received two healthcare accreditations from Healthcare Laundry Accreditation (HLAC) for their Chino, California and Phoenix, Arizona plants. The first was received in 2009 and the Arizona accreditation was received this year. HLAC inspects and accredits laundries that process healthcare textiles for hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities.
