John Riddle, Clean Show Manager and President of Riddle & Associates comments on this year’s show. “I am constantly asked why should I come to the Clean Show or why should I exhibit. There are many reasons. You will see the newest equipment, learn about new services, see working demonstrations and have access to outstanding industry education. In today’s world of electronic communication it is nice to have the opportunity to communicate with someone eye-to-eye, face-to-face and talk with them about industry issues. It’s a great chance to renew old friendships and make new ones. These are just several reasons I think making this trip is worth the time, effort and money. We encourage you to BE THERE and take advantage of this opportunity.”
The World Educational Congress for Laundering and Drycleaning, the show’s formal name, is sponsored jointly by five national industry associations: Association for Linen Management, Coin Laundry Association, Drycleaning & Laundry Institute, Textile Care Allied Trades Association, and Textile Rental Services Association of America. The Clean Show is the world’s largest exhibition for the textile care industry that features live demonstrations of equipment and products.
Clean 2011 in Las Vegas drew approximately 11,000 people from 87 countries. There were over 400 exhibiting companies.

Attendance Up At Clean 2011
The Clean Show 2011 concluded on a very successful note with an increase in attendance and more exhibiting companies than Clean ’09.
TEXCARE 2012 With 264 Exhibitors - 26 Nations
GERMANY — Texcare International closed its doors after registering a three percent increase in attendees. Altogether, 15,800 trade visitors from 100 countries attended the world’s trade fair for modern textile care in Frankfurt am Main from 5 to 9 May 2012. In 2008 there were 15,275 visitors. Attendee growth can be attributed to both German and international attendees. Fifty-two percent of the attendees hailed from outside Germany, followed by the top ten visitor nations of Italy, Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Great Britain, the Russian Federation, Denmark and Sweden.
For the five days of the fair, 264 exhibitors from 26 countries presented their high-tech solutions and innovations for laundries, dry cleaners and textile-service providers. The main theme of Texcare International 2012 was sustainability with an emphasis from the equipment and plant construction industry on resource and energy-efficient solutions designed to make companies more ecologically and economically competitive. Other important topics at Texcare International included increasing automation, process optimization and integration and improved machine utilization.
“The positive results and atmosphere at Texcare International leaves no doubt about the important impulses generated by the world’s leading trade fair for the sector,” said Wolfgang Marzin, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Meese Frankfurt. “Top decision makers from all around the globe travelled to Frankfurt to conduct business at the fair and to gain new customers. In particular, there were large increases in the number of visitors from countries such as Japan, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, Lebanon and Brazil.”
Exhibitors rated visitors positively with regard to quantity and quality. Seventy-five percent said they were extremely pleased with the level of visitor internationality and decisionmaking authority. Consequently, 85 percent of exhibitors said they had achieved their goals for the fair with a high level of sales, orders and new international contacts, according to Texcare.
Eighty-nine percent of Texcare’s exhibitors rated the economic situation in the sector as being ‘very good,’ an increase of five percent over the last Texcare International in 2008 – a sentiment shared by 86 percent of attendees. Additionally, 95 percent of visitors said they were extremely pleased with the range of products to be seen at the fair, according to numbers compiled by Texcare.
In addition to a buzzing exhibition floor, the Texcare Forum, which attracted 1,180 international visitors, was split into themed days. Future Day illuminated aspects such as efficient marketing and innovative business concepts and explored how textile service providers can best face up to tomorrow’s challenges. Innovation Day focused on technology and practice, antimicrobial textiles and control mechanism. How energy efficiency and sustainability in the textile care sector can be increased was the subject of the Sustainable Day and Market Day offered detailed insights into today’s market. Texcare Forum was organized by Intex and DTV in cooperation with Messe Frankfurt.
One of the highlights of Texcare International was the fashion show entitled ‘The future world of workwear today’.
