Texcare Asia, the International Trade Fair for Modern Textile Care, will take place in Hong Kong next year from May 9 –11, at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center. Held once every four years, the event attracted over 2,500 trade visitors in Singapore for the 1998 show.
The 2002 event in Hong Kong is expected to cover around 6,000 square meters and house approximately 100 manufacturers displaying textile care related products and services, for all aspects of the laundry and dry cleaning industries.
NEW ORLEANS, LA -- This year’s Clean ’01, held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans lived up to its reputation of attracting professionals from all segments of the garment and textile care industries. The show’s 16,546 attendees were rewarded with access to the products and services of 562 exhibiting companies, showcased in over 270,757 net square feet of floor space.
Las Vegas, home of glitz and entertainment is once again home for The Clean Show. While days will mostly be filled with catching up with industry peers, there’s plenty of ways to spend a few hours after the convention. The best part is, you don’t even have to leave the strip to enjoy most of these attractions.
The Clean Show can be one of the most effective tools for networking and information gathering in our industry. However, many of us find that every time we go to a trade show, we wind up getting side tracked with conversation about a new item or unique strategy. Then before you know it the show is over and it's time to head home.
There are plenty of reasons why the city known as “N’awlins” consistently ranks in the top five most popular destinations in the United States. So if you can manage some free time during the upcoming convention, we’ve compiled some tourist highlights for your enjoyment.

Laundry to Reduce Air Emmissions and Fund Cleaner Burning Wood Stove Purchases
BOSTON, Mass. — Alltex Uniform Rental Service, an industrial laundry in Manchester, N.H. has agreed to settle claims by the US Environmental Protection Agency that it violated the Clean Air Act by paying a civil penalty of $65,000. They will also be undertaking a Supplemental Environmental Project with a value of at least $220,000 to replace old, polluting wood stoves in southern New Hampshire with new, cleaner models. Additionally, the company will install equipment at its facility to remove approximately 20 tons per year of emissions of volatile organic compounds (“VOCs”). G&K Services is the parent company of Alltex Uniform Rental Service Inc. The EPA action grew out of an EPA inspection of the facility in July 2008.
