Industry Response to the World Trade Center Disaster

Diamond Donates Chemicals
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ -- Diamond Chemical Co., Inc., a supplier to St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York was requested by St. Vincent’s to make an emergency delivery shortly after the World Trade Center attack. Diamond’s driver Franklin Collado was escorted by the East Rutherford Police Department to the George Washington Bridge and then by the New York Police Department to St. Vincent’s facility. Diamond made adonation of product to the hospital which Collado delivered.

Edro Collects For A Cause
EAST BERLIN, CT -- The EDRO Corporation, located 90 miles from Manhattan, took up a collection to assist the victims of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Together with employees, the company raised $300 to be given to the family of Dankia Robinson. Ms. Robinson worked in the World Trade Center and was able to escape, but was hit by flying debris when the building collapsed and she suffered collapsed lungs. The money was raised to move her closer to her parents who reside in Texas.

ARAMARK Reaches Out In Their Time Of Grief
PHILADELPHIA, PA -- ARAMARK operated a food court at the top of World Trade Center #2 as well as concessions, retail merchandise and tours of the observation deck. Thirty-seven employees were in WTC #1, #2 or WTC lower mall area at the time of the attack. Seven remain missing.

ARAMARK has created The ARAMARK 9-11 Fund to accept employee donations for families of ARAMARK victims of the September 11th tragedy. The company will match all contributions to the fund.

ARAMARK has also played a large role in the relief efforts after the attacks on the World Trade Center. ARAMARK employees assisted in the relief efforts providing food and beverages to victims and rescue personnel at Ellis Island, New York’s St. Vincent’s Hospital, New Jersey’s Meadowlands sports complex, and New York’s Shea Stadium. ARAMARK employees helped feed and house 1,500 displaced students at New York University and their School Support Services team in New York City stayed and fed 7,000 children the children’s parents could reach them. ARAMARK's Correctional Services team in Westchester County, New York, provided meals to volunteers and Corrections staff in Arlington, Virginia, provided meals for emergency workers at the Pentagon. Additionally, ARAMARK’s uniform division donated uniforms, public safety and emergency medical equipment and supplies to assist in the rescue effort.

Faultless Laundry Spending $12 million on New Plant

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Faultless Laundry Co. is spending almost $12 million on a facility to accommodate its growing St. Louis business which has grown from 28 million pounds to 36 million pounds due to a new contract. Faultless serves more than 30 acute hospitals and over 400 retail medical locations in the St. Louis and Kansas City areas.
