Additional changes include those in Customer Service which is now uniformly managed, operated with two parallel structures in Vlotho (finishing technology) and in Steinheim (washingtechnology). Within the last 12 months the Customer Service in Germany for washing technology alone has almost doubled. The consolidated sales in the fiscal year of 2000 / 01 amounted to 263 million DM. The company shares are still held by the Kannegiesser family – 95 percent with Martin Kannegiesser and 5 percent with Irma Kannegiesser.
Over the last few years, Kannegiesser has positioned themselves as a technology partner for laundries, and, in line with the new objectives, developed a complete and harmonized sales program. Today, the companyis structured in four divisions: washing technology, flatwork technology, garment technology / laundry logistics and technical services.
All central functions, including sales and distribution, have been centralized in Vlotho, each of the six sites have developed into productive manufacturing entities, each site producing its own specific range of products.
Washing lines and water extraction presses are built in Sarstedt, dryers in Steinheim, washer-extractors in Hoya, ironers in Schlema (Saxony), transport and conveying systems in Augsburg and the finishing technology in Vlotho. This concept of specializing the individual factories positively contributes to manageability and deepens the product competence.
Currently a new laser cutting and surface treatment centre is being built in Vlotho with an overall investment volume of almost 10 million DM. This machining centre will supply the sites in Vlotho, Sarstedt and Hoya in February, 2002.
The modernization measures that have taken place in Schlema, Sarstedt and Steinheim, including the full re-structuring of the entire production range and the implementation of new production technology, have now been concluded.
