Question:What is an average cost per pound for washing hotel linens and terry (including sheets, pillow cases, bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, bath mats or bath rugs), as well as food and beverage (including napkins, square table cloths, rags and aprons)?

Question: Our business is selling bed and bath linen to the hospitality market, specifically to hotels and condo management companies who have OPL. The majority of the products that we provide for these customers are T-180 white percale bed linen and white 86/14 blended cam border terry. One question that we are often asked is "how many washings should we expect to get out of the products that we purchase?"
Question: Is there such a thing as hypoallergenic linen? On occasion, some of our hospital clients ask for this.
Question: What is the acceptable percentage of water retained on terry towels after extraction? What is the recommended drying time and temperature?
Question: Is there any information available concerning dimensional stability, i.e. shrinkage, of towels in repeated commercial laundering? Also, what is the average number of wash cycles that a towel goes through before it is discarded?

Got Bedbugs? Help Is Here
ST. PAUL, Minn. — Ecolab Inc. and the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) launched the www.bedbugtoolkit.com, a free online resource to help hotel owners and operators stop bed bugs before they spread. The kit features downloadable materials on how to train staff to detect bed bugs early and actions to take when they suspect a guest room is infested. The digital toolkit includes a fact sheet about how bed bugs spread, their life-cycle and where they like to hide; a poster on bed bug detection; an instructional video showing where to inspect for bed bugs and what signs to look for; and a convenient pocket card for housekeeping staff with directions on how to inspect a room and what to do if bed bugs are found.
